The Callaway Apex 19 Iron Set strikes a fascinating balance in the world of player's irons, offering an intriguing mix of distance, control, and feel. Right out of the gate, you notice the innovative multi-material construction, thoughtfully infused with tungsten. This design choice optimizes the center of gravity, leading to a ball flight and level of control that are truly pleasing when you make a clean hit.
One of the exciting aspects is the 360 Face Cup technology, which seems to deliver on its promise of maintaining high ball speeds and consistent distances. Even when my swing was less than perfect, I appreciated the soft, solid feel the urethane microspheres provided, which absorbed vibrations effortlessly. This feature adds a comforting touch, especially on those off-center strikes.
A noteworthy point is the slightly larger footprint of these irons compared to traditional player irons. It’s a design that subtly offers forgiveness without losing the attractive sleekness that advanced players often seek. The VFT technology in the short irons is another highlight, enhancing spin control and allowing for some impressive shot-making capabilities.
For low to mid-handicap golfers, these irons are particularly appealing if you’re looking for something that marries playability with a sense of forgiveness. All in all, the Apex 19 irons deliver a premium forged experience that keeps you excited to hit the course, whether you're perfecting your swing or tackling a challenging round.

Extremely Soft Feel - We’ve created a new standard for incredibly soft feel from a forged 1025 mild carbon steel body, and for the first time ever we’ve engineered our proprietary urethane microspheres into a forged iron. The carbon steel body promotes amazing Apex sound and feel, and the urethane microspheres consist of over one million tiny air pockets that absorb unwanted vibration without slowing the face.
Long, Consistent Distance With Playability - Our renowned 360 Face Cup employs a shallow, flexible rim around the perimeter of the face that flexes and releases at impact to promote fast ball speed for consistent distance on center hits and off-center hits. In the short irons, the spin control VFT Face is designed for aggressive shot-making in your scoring clubs. This is a distance breakthrough for a forged iron.
Optimum Ball Flight and Control - The tungsten-infused, multi-material construction allows us to locate the position of the CG in each iron with extraordinary precision while maintaining the flexibility of the Face Cup. This promotes optimum launch, ball flight, and pinpoint control for scoring performance through the set.
